As a young man (with too many hormones) growing up in the 1970s, I can tell you with absolute authority that there were four women who were on every pubescent boy’s mind– Farrah Fawcett, Cheryl Tiegs, Bo Derek and Raquel Welch .  Sure, there were utters – but these gals were the cream of the crop.  

The major rite of passage was to have one of their epic posters up on your bedroom wall.  That was huge.  It showed you’d graduated from Barbie Dolls and had entered the exciting, awkward, and confusing hormonal journey into manhood.

OK, Cheryl Tiegs wasn't a major Boob Tube Chick but Cheryl Tiegs's photos where everywhere 

Bo Derek's role in 10 became one of the most talked about performances of the year, and the scene of Bo Derek running in slow motion on the beach was an instant classic. 

Among Raquel Welch's titles were "Miss Photogenic," "Miss La Jolla," "Miss Contour," and "Miss San Diego." For many adolescent males, she had other titles, but those are not suitable to print.

When the bikini debuted in the summer of 1946 in Cannes, even the most harden of spectators was shocked to gaze upon the navel. "It was considered the zone of contention and defined the difference between a two-piece bathing suit and a bikini,".The outcry was heard from the Vatican to Vogue. The church quickly denounced the bikini; Spain, Portugal and Italy all banned the suit from beaches.

Enter Hollywood, which sniffed sweet opportunity in the acrid redolence of controversy.Her prehistoric bikini in "One Million Years B.C." created a Brontosaurus-size stir.

Everybody knows Elvira, so I'll refrain from the lengthy biography.  Instead, I'll just serve up some facts about Cassandra Peterson (NSFW2) that I found interesting.

Cassandra Peterson was cited in The Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest dancer to work in Las Vegas (age 17). She performed at the Dunes hotel in Las Vegas.
